Hi friends and supporters...
I've invested most of my income the last few years (from online and college part time jobs) in hardware, software, web hosting, domain names, and programming.
A few weeks ago, my main desktop system (2.66 gh, 1.3 terabytes of storage, DVD and CD Burners, and most of my production software) lost the power supply. The message seen on the screen said "CPU fan not working", so I replaced that, at $40. Unfortunately, same issue upon bootup, meaning the only other problem could be was the power supply.
Being holiday season (and a full time college student supporting my wife and grandson, while putting a roof over my son and daughter's head), I just do NOT have any spare cash...
My desktop is an HP Pavilion 864n Media Center Desktop PC which came out in 2002. I bought this one recertified in Spring 2004, the second semester in my return to college. It has served me well, but is showing its age.
It has been my workhorse in keeping the SurvivalRing.org website updated, creating and maintaining downloadble documents, award winning audio and video projects, and communicating with folks like you all over the world, who come to me with questions, comments, suggestions, and needs.
Without have this working desktop, I feel like I've lost an appendage, and it has put a damper at creating things for my websites.
Can you help me get back to speed? Would you support me in repairing this system, adding more disk storage, and purchasing an updated and much more powerful motherboard to help me continue creating life saving content for years to come?
Donations will pay for the new power supply to fix this HP 864N sytem immediately so I can get back to work on the website, two 500 gig external storage drives, and a new motherboard, processor and memory to build the next generation SurvivalRing desktop support computer (I've already got an empty tower case, and will use all the drives in the old tower, once the new tower is ready).
ALL who donate and email me, will get instant access to over 15 gigabytes of downloadable survival and preparedness files, including DOWNLOADABLE versions of MY SurvivalCD.com CD rom productions.
November 2007 marked the TENTH year of SurvivalRing and my other projects being on the web. I'm planning on being online and expanding my offerings for the next 10, 20, 30 years (ok, the rest of my life), and having a decade behind me of success, should help you know that I will continue what I've been doing.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and thanks for donating anything you can spare.
SurvivalRing is my life, my dream, and my passion. It's helped millions of people around the world since it started, including through some of the worst disasters this world has ever seen, by offering information that a FAMILY can use to prepare, recover, or stay alert in any situation.
Support our work, support our foundation, and support your friends and community, by helping us stay online and expanding.
My love and appreciation goes out to all of you.
Have a safe and happy 2007 holiday season....
